Hello all,

Was searching around for a good forum, and I believe i've found it. My bb 8703 will be arriving at my office today.

So my question is, whats the one program you (all who are reading this) think I must have on my bb. I'm a huge fan of apps and really enjoy ones that make life easier, or when in long meetings, make life fun.

Any all suggestions welcomes.

Berry411 or google maps (Google Maps (http://www.google.com/gmm)) are both excellent...

If your on Sprint, download the TeleNav software using the on device browser. It is what I consider to be the killer app.

I definitely think google maps is the best app. I find myself using that regularly, even moreso than TeleNav. The other app that I love is bb light...I like to have the backlight controled by user interface or removal from the holster (if you use one.)

My 8703 arrives today as well, but I'm not sure if the bb light app is necessary with the ambient light sensor that comes on it. Anyone know if this is still a good program?

I am in the middle of trying to work a deal with the Sprint store manager in my mall on getting one of these Blackberries. Damn Sprint employees get them giving to them for free. I work at RadioShack and sell Sprint for a living and we don't even sell these phones nor can we get a deal on them. Hopefully I can come up with one. These phones look amazing!

Google Maps can now provide Traffic Updates in addition to directions! Sweet!

Does anyone how how (or if it is possible) to have it display the turn by turn directions in a text list?

Thanks for the responses guys!

Question; i've been hearing a lot of positive things about google maps. However I think i read the verizon 8703 doesn't support full gps, or something like that. Seeing as how i'm getting my 8703 on a verizon plan, will i be able to use google maps?

Google maps does not use GPS, it's the best possible NON GPS program out there...

If you're coming from Windows Mobile (or even if you're not) the must have application for BB is PocketDay Pro. It's a great program, and I am thrilled to have it on my BB. Cross River Systems (http://www.crossriversystems.com)

You can toggle the traffic status on/off via the scrollwheel once in a map. Just Click and select Show Traffic.

There is a thread dedicated to "must-have" BlackBerry apps here:

Ditto to both my faves:
1. Google maps
2. BBerry411

Can't travel, or even go out, without either of these.

1. Berry 411 (Movietimes, reverse look-ups, dictionary, yellow/white pgs, and much more!)
2. TeleNav (GPS navigation system). Better than the system in my car!
3. VirtualReach NewsClip (RSS Reader). Throw away your newspapers! The absolute best way to keep up on news and forums!
4. Google Maps (non-GPS mapping/traffic system)
