I am a new 7100g user. I have set my SMS options to include Delivery Confirmation, and it says you're supposed to get a "D" byt he checkmark when the message is confirmed delivered but I am not seeing this wven when I know the person has recieved the message. Has anyone else run into this?

I have only ever seen this work with sms from/to the same carrier. Are the people you are testing with on Cingular or another carrier?

Where are you setting "Delivery Confirmation" to on on the 7100g? I don't see this option anywhere.

No, only to Verizon and Sprint.
It is under the main options screen under SMS.
its listed as 'Delivery Reports' - On/Off

So strange..I don't even have that option available under Options -> SMS.
I'm running 4.0.0.198.
I wonder why?

I have Cingular with the 7290 and Delivery Reports on but I have yet to get confirmation a SMS was delivered to either a Cingular or other carrier phone.

does anyone know if SMS messages cost as do Text Messages when you have an unlimited Xpress Mail with Cingular? I want to say that SMS uses GPRS and Text uses the regular GSM. They are also seperate on the menu?

SMS messages are considered separate from Xpress Mail and are billed as Text Messages.

So strange...whether it's useful or not, why the hell don't I have the option on my 7100g running 4.0.0.198??? So strange...even the Blackberry FAQ says it should be there. Is there something I did to hide it?

I don't see it on my 7100g also (running the latest software).

Weird indeed. Maybe there's some setting on your account that enables it? Who knows...i can't think of any other reason.
