Great news for all the sprint/nextel people

Sprint went up on the price of there text messaging from .10 to .15 per message. So as the fine print goes you can cancle your cell service with no cancelation fees

Has anybody successfully tried this and is it only for the Sprint side or does it apply to the Nextel side as well??

Rate increase was only on the CDMA side I believe.

I just changed one of my plans and noticed the rate is $0.15 for Nextel also. Not sure if this has been this way or just changed as I dont text message very often.

Keep in mind though that if you have paid a bill since October 1st it is considered acceptance of changes. So if you havent paid your bill since october 1st you should be able to exit contract with sprint

If you are not utilizing text messaging the rate change does not affect you and you are not entitlied to cancel. It only affects pay-as-you-go and not the standard text messaging plans as well.
