Hello everyone... I am new to this forum... and I've done some searching but cannot seem to find the answer I need... and because it's an answer my boss wants, I am going to post it...

I apologize in advance if this question has been asked and answered... but I just cannot seem to locate it fast enough!

Here goes:

I have my boss set up on an 8700R, no Enterprise Server - his emails are forwarded from our internal server to his BlackBerry.

He handed it to me today with over 285 old emails on it. Yes, he has a bunch of those in his inbox on Outlook but the ones that have been deleted from Outlook don't appear to be deleted from the Handheld.

I use the same BB and same server, Outlook, etc... but I won't let my email go that long without deleting or filing it... and it seems to reconcile okay on my BB.

How do I delete all of these emails off his BB so that it will start fresh as of today? And how do I get the emails to be deleted off his BB when he's deleted them from his outlook???

Thanks for any (quick) help I can get from you all out there....

I'm going to be visiting this site often...

I'm not quite sure how to get to the point where deleting on outlook will delete on the BB, would like to know though.

As for deleting those other 285 messages, go to messages, while at the very top of the list (today's date) click the track wheel and hit 'delete prior'. That will clear those without having to delete them one-by-one.

go to messages, scroll all the way to the top.....<click trackwheel> select delete prior

Fantastic!!! The "Delete Prior" function worked great.

Now, if someone can answer the "how do I delete from BB and Outlook at same time" question, I'll be a very happy camper.

Thanks for your help...

I absolutely love FORUMS like this!

THANK YOU!!!!!

From one newbie to another, here is my .02 cents.

If he is using Blackberry Internet Service, there is no way to delete emails out of Outlook from the blackberry (unless Redirector does it). He would have to do it manually just like you are manually deleting email from the blackberry.

But, there is a work-around. I also use Outlook and have turned off the "automatically send/receive email every XXX minutes" feature. This way, when I vew email on the blackberry and want to delete it entirely, I select delete, On Mailbox and Handheld. Then when I manually click send/receive in outlook those messages are no longer on the email server and therefore does not show up in Outlook.
