8700G browses faster than the 8703E

I have both the 8700G from T-Mobile and the 8703E from Sprint... I thought the 8703E would be 10X faster than the 8700G when using the web because it has 3G... BUT the 8700G beat the 8703E slightly each time... in the new york area?

Any explanation? Could it be the processor chips?

Nope maybe just the area some areas perform better than others

They should be fairly similar unless tethered to EVDO due to the latency - the intial connection to the page, that both experience.

There are definitely more variables involved than just the carrier's network speed.

after looking more into the chips side of the device, I can see why the 8700G still browses faster on EDGE than the 8703E on EVDO

those of you with 8700G's thinking of moving to the 8703E for faster speeds, think twice... it will only make sense you wanted to use the device as a modem, sprint currently has 39.99 unlimted with a phone as modem feature.
