Sounds like a dumb question, but I'm clueless!!!!

BTW- it's a excel spreadsheet. Only 22k

natively, you cannot. with a 3rd party application, you can. i can't remember the name of it, but if you search a bit in this forum and read the threads, it should show up. its something like eoffice or something.

and its horribly cumbersome and confusing to use. Dynoplex makes it.

nope. thats called the non-competitive market for you. just give it about 6 months or so, and you will see that prices for products such as this should come down drastically in price. the developer market is up for grabs right now, and RIM has been making large pushes to getting more and more developers involved.

...and so far, i have yet to see one application for a blackberry cracked, so piracy is not an issue whatsoever.

Why not just email the file to your Blackberry address? Then open the attachment and you have your spreadsheet.
