I've been on and off the phone with Cingular support, nobody can give me a straight answer, I just bought a AT&T 7280 and I'm trying to use it with my Cingular Sim (the orange sim if that matters, one guy in support thought it did) I keep getting "invalid sim" when I turn wireless on. One woman gave me two possible MEP numbers, so we tried them but with no success... just need to know if there's an option I didn't try or do I just need to toss this in the trash?

Thanks 8-)

It has been really difficult to get AT&T BBs unlocked, even to use with Cingular. Even though you can use a blue SIM in a Cingular BB, you can not use an orange SIM in an AT&T BB.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know :)

You could pay about $50 for a cable unlock that would let you use the AT&T BB with your Cingular SIM. Cheaper than buying a new BB.

how would one go about getting it unlocked like that? the only place I've found charges about $100

I also had another idea, if I kept my eyes open on fleabay for a broken 7280 from cingular couldn't I just switch the main boards?

where I can get the cable ? I got a new BB 8707 from Vodafone in London, but I cannot use my current sim (Smartone-Vodafone in Hong Kong) using in my 7290.

Help please.
