Usually at least 5-7 minutes. At times over an hour. Is this par for the course?

not at all. have you tried uninstalling PM4?

I've unistalled and reinstalled about 10 times. Nothing. The unit will take usually about 15 minutes to sync.

Mine did the same thing at first. Really slow, sometimes never ending.

Then, one day, it just clicked. Now it syncs fast and fine.

If you sync with Entourage "Notes" you might go into advanced sync prefs and make sure there's no weird categories selected. At one point I had been telling it to sync a category which contained no data, and I think it didn't like that.

But I could be making that up.
