I have just got a new company phone. After I set the BB to autolock when put into the holster, everytime I put it into the holster is tries to speed dial from the "P" button. There is no mechanical touching, so it must be the magnet in the holder. Cingular first said the holder must be touching the holder when inserted and recommended locking it first. When I did this the phone continuously beeps. If I delete the speed dial, then it asks if I want to set a number for the speed dial. When I called them back, Cingular said get a new phone!
Anyone else heard of this?
TIA,
Big Al

Aha! I just found a thread on here that indicates I've put the phone in with the screen facing out and that makes the "P" speed dial activate.
I never saw any instruction in the written manual that came with the phone on how to use the plastic holder.
I'm amazed Cingular didn't have this in their Tech support fix list!
As always, the users are the best touble shooters. Hooray for forums!
Thanks,
Big Al

A few of my users are experiencing this with their 8700C and one with an 8703e. However, they are holstering their BlackBerry devices properly.
Any other thoughts on what may cause this?
