MP3 - encoded using MPEG Part 1 and Part 2 audio layer 3
Supported sample rates are 16Khz, 22.050Khz, 24Khz, 32Khz, 44.1Khz and 48Khz

I have some problem with the sample rate thing...is it same as kbps...so if I have a song with 320 kbps..can i play it on the pearl???

I hope it does..cos I have already bought one and it's coming next week!

Sample rate and bitrate are different. Most mp3 you rip are 44Khz. I don't know what bitrates it will play, my guess is that it will be fine. Mine are 192kbps, play fine.
