Why? The UMTS/3G in the 8707 is not compatible with the UMTS that Cingular is rolling out - it's a different frequency.

8707g/v = GSM/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900 + UMTS 2100 a.k.a. European/Asian 3G

Cingular operates 3G on UMTS 850/1900.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Just do like I did, buy the housing for the 8707v and switch them out. You would think that I have the 8707v, but it's really the 8700c.

i still wouldn't have the cingular video; i need a blackberry that will work with cingular's 3g network. i bought that blackjack and i hate it. i switched back to my blackberry the same day! it just doesn't feel right. it has the cingular video i want plus 3g. but there is nothing else that i like about it. blackberry's are a lot easier to deal with.
