I just updated my GPS page and in doing so I noticed they have version 5.0 for Sprint customers. This version has what I have said they are lacking. I state on my page

So what's on holiday wish list for these applications - Routing maps with user selectable POI's? Say I have directions to a pet store programmed and I am also hungry. Wouldn't it be great to be able to see where I am on the route and be able to select a category of POI's (places to eat) to show up. Wow Telenav has this in their 5.0 version for Sprint. Wonder why it's not available for others yet?

You can check it out in their user guide for Sprint.
http://www.telenav.com/support/user-guide/files/TN_v50_UsersGuide_Sprint.pdf

Pop them an email from their contact page and ask when other devices will get that version.

If you have Telenav right now, please post your version number. Mine is 4.4. MrKyoo has 4.7 but they don't even list that on their support site in terms of guides.

Nice update to your site. I was unaware that Wayfinder has voice prompts. Even with that feature their POI is horrible for the US. IMO.

I have a question:

Is Telenav available for a Cingular 8700C? Do they even support it? Their website doesn't show any Cingular BlackBerry being supported at all!

Yes, I have 4.4.0.08 and yes they really should fix their site if they really want to sell the BB market.

Agreed and if Telenav would put 5.0 out there for us all I would be in heaven.

I am seeing version 4.7.0.07 when i try the OTA downloader on my 8703e.

Where are you finding version 5 for blackberry? I have only seen version 5 for phones, not blackberry.

So you haven't had any crashes on the 8700 with Telenav? The reports in their forums scare me.

Do they have a demo key available? I've downloaded this but can't find anywhere where they offer a demo.

I had a reboot when launching telenav once, but it has not happened again. Seems to have been an isolated incident for me at least.

That's the point. WHEN! (PS I sent them an email asking- let's see if they answer) It has the missing features that I want.

4.7 adds the 3D maps, but 5.0 seems to add the entire route view and finding POI's along the way.

I don't think they do, and their web site is not intuitive for signing up an 8700GSM. They sent me my original link through emailing back and forth. Now when I go into my account it says I have SLVR 7 as I recall. They don't list the 8700. Go figure, but I just sent them a note on that too.

So now I'm trying to purchase a subscription but I can't because the 8700C for Cingular is not listed. How can I purchase a subscription online? I'm wanting to use this soon. I already have the software installed as the download link was in the FAQ section. Help! Any ideas? Should I pick the SLVR7?

Try it that way cause they told me today the 8700c isn't officially supported. Don't know if that is cause of Cingular or Telenav, but my works flawlessly. Just wish I could try 5.0.

I did the OTA load over the air and it gave me 4.7. Just point your browser on your BB to TeleNav (http://ota.telenav.com/ota/tn/)

Well, I finally was able to sign up, and I must say, I'm quite impressed so far. I'm showing the latest version available for the 8700c is 4.4.0.08. Is that correct? Does this version have the 3D maps?

Those of you on 4.7 can you switch views using a key? See page 20 of the manual in my first post.

The answer is yes with the Menu button it appears. Here is the guide for Cingular 8100. See page 20.

But only version 5.0 adds the route Map Summary feature.

Well the BB 7520 must be different animal. My TeleNav version is 4.0.0.2.0 and that appears to be the latest.

I had the 7520 before I went to the Pearl. Eventhough I loved Telenav on my 7520, It just keeps getting better on new hardware (e.g. Pearl) and new releaeses (4.7)

Installed it and look forward to testing it tomorrow on the drive to work.

Just an update here. The 8700 has 4.7 now, but there is no shortcut key for switching views. You have to use trackwheel which isn't ideal, but otherwise it's the best app now IMO.
