What BT headset are you using with your NEXTEL 7520??

I have the Jabra... Let me tell you, the wind noise is killer. If you are indoors, and you are totally still, it is fine. But if you move, the other person is hit with a hurricane.

I've heard VERY good things about the Logitech Mobile Freedom, and want to try that - thanks rta53 for the price info - and when i do try it, i'll post my findings.

I just purchased the Jabra BT800. The echo is horrendous, I can't connect remotely (I can end the call remotely), and there is a delay of a few seconds before connecting that has resulted in too many calls going into voice mail. It's going back . . .

I use the Motorola HS850 and it works very well in most situations. In loud areas it can be hard to hear and strong wind can make you hard to hear for the person on the other end.. but most headsets have that problem anyway.

As for the echo mentioned above I've only heard complaints from the other end when my battery was very low or when I was pinned between several computers that were all on and cranking heavily. Other than that it's worked great.

I payed around $90 for it with shipping.

BT800 is bad news. Echo, can't anwser calls from headset, delay in connection. bad bad bad... I am on hold with Jabra right now.

BT250 is super fantastic unless you are in direct path of wind.

It's a sad case for the BlackBerry.... All the various issues (some BB model specific) that folks are experiencing. Some of the complaints in this thread don't exist with any other handsets. When We test headsets we use a SE t637, BB7100t and Treo 650 GSM. The 637 works with anything we throw at it - no echos not wierd connection issues it just plain works. The question in my mind is what is SE doing that RIM can't seem to grasp?

By the way I have a BT800 that works on the the7100t without any audio issues - but will not answer a call. The Plantronics m3500 I use works perfectly on the 7100t... but neither of these work with the BB7520 we have.

One of the above posted they hated the HS850 and other says it works well. So it seems that either as a group we have a very skewed concensus of what "works" or this is getting down right handset specific (not model).

just FYI, I'm on a 7520 and the BT250 works wonders for me. I haven;t had a single issue with it. Only if it's a very windy day and you are walking in direct path of the wind. You can hear but they won't.

I agree with rcg that there are clear issues with several BBs and headsets. When I read other reviews of some of the same headsets I have reviewed I wonder if I was drunk when I was conducting my tests. I think RIM has problems that, from what I have heard in private messages, are known to them in their Bluetooth implementation. They need to address these soon since that is one of the key selling features for the newer line (7520, 7250, 7100, and 7290). Soon these phones will have a bad reputation that upgrades will not erase. A good example is the HP 6315. Anyone running out to buy one?

That said, there are differences in the headsets too. Size, appearance, volume, comfort, functionality, battery life, noise reduction capability, etc. So look at the factors and decide what is more improtant to you and hope it works with your handset.
