Hi,

I'm trying to pair my 8703e with my Navman bluetooth GPS receiver (model 4400 and the passkey is NAVMAN). The problem is that the passkey for the Navman is in letters. I can't seem to enter letters in the field when my BB is asking for it (only numbers).
Is there a way you can enter letters in this field?
I've tried using the "ALT" key with no luck.
I have already contacted Navman but I don't think it's going to be easy to change the built-in passkey on the unit. All of my other devices can enter letters for the key.

BTW, this seems to be apparent in Cingulars 8700c as well. Maybe all BB's?

Thanks,
Steve

if the passkey is navman and you had a non smartphone then the passkey would be 628686!!!

The real key is in numbers as junior1790 stated. they just used a combination that spells out thier product.

Sorry, using the numbers in place of letters did not work.
The Navman support mentioned that as well, but didn't work. Then they just replied that BB's is not a supported product for my particular Navman puck.
The only alternative (aside from getting a new BT puck) is to get BB to fix the pairing entry to accept letters, as they should like all other devices.
