View Full Version : Just got a yahoo email account.. ?s

I set up my yahoo email on my verizon 8703..

delivery to my blackberry once mail is sent to my yahoo email is very quick.. However, i used two test emails to test the "one-way" feature of yahoo.

I deleted one message on my blackberry and marked the other read. In the one I deleted, I used the "from handheld and mailbox" option..

HOwever, both appear as new still on yahoo webmail. Is there a longer delay for this, i.e. not instant as with the receiving of emails as I've experienced?

I've never really checked the time it takes that I delete my yahoo mail on the BB to how long it is deleted on yahoo but it always deletes it or will show if its been read.

What does that do? I use yahoo as well.

It refreshes the screen from the server, rather than the browser.

Just what I was gonna say. The delivery is almost instant. The update, for some reason, is slower, but it will happen. That is how mine works.

My yahoo mail is really fast.

However it you are experiencing a slow down, just choose reconcile now from the handheld and it will take care of it immediately.

My Yahoo mail is slow. I sent an email from hotmail through Outlook and one from yahoo. The hotmail tooks seconds the Yahoo about two minutes.

I do not think that a fair comparison is based on just one email being sent, or even a few for that matter.

I process over 40 - 60 per day on my Cingular BlackBerry 7130c through BIS & Outlook 2003.

I have timed large numbers of messages over the last few months just out of curiosity, as I have not had any problems. Furthermore I have been quite surprized as just how fast the email is pushed to the BB. The timing of my 3 accounts, work, Yahoo, and Gmail is very similiar with an overall average of 3-5 seconds for the mail to arrive at both my laptop and my BB. Once in a while I find Gmail (my fav) slower by a few seconds, with Yahoo being the speed champ.

So if you are waiting a long time I would review your setup as you should not be waiting as long as you report.
