I just happened to be looking at my Blackberry when the LED went solid red for a few seconds. I hit a key and I had a white screen with the turning hourglass -- meaning it was rebooting. I suspect this has happened before without my knowledge because in the past I have opened BBWeather and saw a message like "retrieving weather information." Normally this only happens after a reboot.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Something similar happened to my 8700c. It would reboot by itself. As time went by, it would do it more and more often, and it reached a point where it would not be usable anymore. I had to have Cingular replace it.

P.S.: I take very good care of my 8700c, but already am on the 4th one! The first two ones had thumbwheel problems. The third one had the problem above.

It's happened to me maybe 4 times in 7 months. It works great afterwards so I don't let it bother me.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

It could be loose battery contacts. It sounds like what it does when you pull the battery to do a hard reset.

The battery seems pretty secure. Also, if I shake the blackberry (even violently) it doesn't reboot.

FYI, it just rebooted a couple of hours ago while I was reading emails.

This has actually been happening to me periodically during the past few months. I would say it's happened maybe 5 or 6 times. Funny when it happens it usually reboots rather quickly so I just ignore the problem. I'm trying to remember has it coincided with me downloading the most recent Tmo OS. But I can't remember if it happened before.
