Hello all,
I just got a Blackberry 7105t from the states (hasn't shipped yet), and I am wondering if its worth bringing to canada if it won't work with the Rogers network. Anyone have any advice on if it will work or not? Thank you in advance

I think it should work. I think are the key words though. Rogers is GSM I believe but might operate on different bands, I don't remember. I also don't remember if that even makes a difference. I would say try it though, should be okay.

The 7100t/7105t are quad-band and when I travel they roam just fine in Canada on Rogers. I'm sure if it's unlocked you should be able to put a Rogers sim w/ BB data plan and be good to go.

ok becuse its not listed by rogers for sale and in the states its only for sale via T-Mobil. I'm hoping it will work, it'd just be a big bummer if it doesn't. Thanks for your help, if anyone has any more advice please share.
Oh and whats the BB thing you were talking about. I'm totally new

The BB Data Plan is the data plan you need to use any of the data features of the BlackBerry. Email, internet all use data. The 71oot/7105t are tmobile branded versions of the 7100 series. Rogers also has a version of the 7100, you might want to just look into that.

but if i just wanted to use it as a phone with a calender and such (no email or internet) i should be fine?

Right, as long as you have a voice plan (y)

Yes, you should be fine. However, there is a lot you can't do without the data plan. You'll be disappointed after a while because many features won't work. But, the calendar and the phone will work just fine. Keep in mind that this all hinges on whether or not the phone is "unlocked." If it's not unlocked you'll be stuck having to pay to unlock it if you want to use it on Rogers.
