I searched all past post and found something that worked for the contacts. I am still having problems with the Desktop manager. When I turn on media manager, it opens with- "The connected BB device does not support transferring media files. Verify the device has BB device software version 4.2 or later installed"- the BB device has installed v4.10.309(platform 1.8.0.146) and desktop was the latest from the BB website, device manager also. It also says – no device connected- on the right side. I have tried everything on 2 systems, same results. Thank you...

You must have 4.2 OS on the BB in order for Media Manager to work. Right now the 8100 is the only device with 4.2 OS. 4.2 is not available for any other device right now.

Thanks for the info, with my limited experience, is it possible to upgrade my 7100T to the newer OS?

4.2 is not available for anything but the Pearl yet. Try this thread for the most current OS for your device.

Thanks again, so I guess the only things I can put on my BB are contacts, calendar, task, and phone, no games or other files? Just by using sycronize on the desktop manager?
