Hi, I just got a 8700c and I have 3 e-mail accounts setup (no BES). I would like to keep the main (@<hidden>) account active (for emergencies) at night while the other two are disabled so I don't have to wake up every time they get a piece of spam. I looked at the profile management utility but I don't see any options that would allow me to do that. Any ideas?

Thanks!

You could set up profiles from certain people to ring? Put phone on silent unless its an email from the list you create? Dont know if that helps... I dont know of another way like you ask (and I want one tho)

Thanks for the response. I saw that exceptions can be configured for specific profiles but that's not what I need. I need to be able to receive e-mail sent to the main account from any address while the other accounts are silenced. Perhaps there is a third party app. that would allow me to do so[?]

I think that even if you could stop them, you would eventually get all the mail sent to those accounts as there is no way (in BIS 2.0) to stop or read via webmail. This is one of the shortcomings of BIS 2.0 IMHO.

"Message Alerts" allows you to create a custom alerts, including by recipient email address - i.e., messages to one acct can trigger an alert while messages to your other acct won't. These alerts would be in addition to whatever profile alert may be active.

I use it for emergency messages, including one for pages.

one possibility is to set up a profile called "night" or whatever-
in this profile, only level 1 messages have an alert. then set the desired email to have all messages sent as level 1.

How do I make the desired account Level 1?

Thanks!

Via filters (forward as level 1) -- then set the level 1 alert and adjust the messages alert so it's silent. Then only level 1 messages will trigger an alert on the device. You can't really disable email delivery based on time of day. You'll have to go into the filters for an account and set it to not deliver mail to disable forwarding.
