Hi All,

I have owned a Palm device since US Robotics was the owner.

I just received my 8703 and set it up with BIS (I will be moving it to the corporate BES in a week or two)

On my Tungsten, I had the ability to read and store PDF's, Word and Excel documents on the machine. Not email attachments but actual files saved on the device.

I also had a program that encrypted data. I've seen lots, any I should look closer at, or avoid.

Do I need to purchase software, or is there free applications available (pro's and con's, I'm not afraid to spend the money if required.)

I would (and tried) to search but not quite finding what I'm looking for, or thoroughly confused (not that hard, ask my wife).

Any help appreciated,

Stan

(anything else I'm missing, or you would like to suggest would be appreciated (possible ignored) but definitely appreciated)

If you look at handango.com, I think you can find Word and PDF readers. The BB has limited capability to do that. Plus, I have found the screen too small to do it effectively.

You'll find that the Palm does some things that the BB can't, such as actually store documents and spreadsheets on the device. The BB is a great device for email and phone, but otherwise I still carry my Palm for the PDA functions (calendar, addressbook, etc.). Although the BB has these functions, the Palms are by far more robust.
