Will my BB 7250 with VZW work in India and Hong Kong? VZW wants to high-rent me a BB for $300 security deposit and $15/day, plus $2.49/min voice and 0.50/min data. Seems kind of expensive. Plus they "think" I can use my current 7250 (US based) for voice in India, but not Hong Kong.
Some International expertise would help, please. I travel in March 2007.

Two chance; slim and none.

You may have voice in India, but you have to find out if Verizon has any roaming agreements in India.

Verizon's CDMA/EVDO network basically runs in North America only.
You would have to find out if one of the Indian (and Hong Kong) carriers runs CDMA AND has a roaming agreement with Verizon AND has the RIM infrastructure running. Chances of getting data are slim - but do some homework with Verizon first.

We have a few Verizon BB customers going to India this week; we got them loaner GSM/EDGE BlackBerrys.

I think you will need GSM phones/Blackberries

Wirelessly posted (7250: BlackBerry7250/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/109)

India and Hong Kong have 800MHz CDMA2000 networks. However, the question is whether VZW has roaming agreements with these carriers or not.
