I have a 7100T (I think) and all the numbers show up without dashes...like4079256887. I cannot find in the manual or in a help book at the book store a way to change that. Can someone please solve this for me? Many thanks.

Welcome to the forums,
Are you referring to no dashes while dialing a phone number? There is no way to change that. It would be nice if it put in spaces or dashes but it doesn't.

why do you need dashes when dialing?

Here's how I do it. I have my contacts in Outlook. Instead of entering the phone number in the blank field next to the label like "mobile" I click on the mobile button, or label itself. This opens a smaller window called "check phone number". Then enter the area code & phone number in their fields in that box. When you click OK Outlook will auto format it to appear like this:
+ 1 (454) 322 - 8510
This way you do not have to enter the 1 or any of the formatting. Outlook does it for you. Then perform a sync using the desktop software and your phone numbers will appear the same way in your BB address book.
