Was searching for a unit on buygpsnow.com and saw the model Wintec WBT-100. (Sorry, cant post a link. Not enough posts yet.)

This does several things more then a normal puck, like offline vehicle tracking and stand-alone compass.

Am I missing a downside to it for the price?

Thanks for any help.

Its bigger, heavier and more expensive than the Holux GPSlim 240 that I use. I believe that neither the offline tracker or the compass will work with any of the BlackBerry software packages available. On the other hand, if you WANT the offline tracker and compass for use with other software on other devices, then it looks fine. All depends on what you want it for.

EDIT: It also does not use the Sirf Star III chipset that most seem to think is the best GPS receiver chipset on the market. I don't know any negatives about the chipset it does use, just that the prevailing opinion most everywhere seems to be that Sirf Star III is best.

I am using a Holux GR 231 and it works well with my BlackBerry.

I found it through: BlackBerryInsight » Recommended Bluetooth GPS Receivers (http://www.blackberryinsight.com/2006/12/21/recommended-bluetooth-gps-receivers/)
