I am new to RIM and was asked by our management if the server can support Blackberry devices without MDS/BES. Connecting through wap seems to be a good alternative.
Our server currently talks simple socket with our properiatary protocol over tcp/ip for Symbian devices.
My sample server returns stock value if we connect and send stock?symbolname. It understands only tcp/ip for now.
Can anyone tell me the tweaks required for the server application to support wap connections for BB devices.
