You need to have a BlackBerry Data Plan. It doesn't appear that you have one. Call your provider and verify that you do. You won't be able to use google talk, BB Messenger, send email, etc. without one.

BB Messenger, send email, etc. without one.

Pretty much all you can do is make and receive calls and send and receive SMS without a Blackberry data plan.

AFTER you have followed earlier instructions to delete Gtalk (Options-->Advanced Options-->Applications-->select gtalk and delete), then pull the battery and do a reboot, the icon should disappear from the home screen.

If not, then hide it (while over that icon, hold down ALT key, click trackwheel and select hide icon).

Ohad, it seems to me that you need someone like your customer service rep to talk you through basic setup of your Blackberry and do as earlier advised and confirm you have a Blackberry Data Plan from your carrier.

Navigate to the same location you did to delete and go into "Modules" and make sure no modules exist that pertain to gtalk. I had the same problem with Yahoo Messenger where I deleted it but the icon still remained. A module still existed. Delete the module if one still exists. This should remove gtalk.
