IF you go with OZ Messenger, it would be good to have an Unlimited SMS plan if you do a lot of IMing. OZ uses SMS not data.

Try getting on as a beta user of JiveTalk. It uses data and is a great program. Send an email to support@<hidden> to see if you can participate.
