what can be put on the memory card.....is that for new programs or just pictures, songs and videos?

You can put whatever you want on the SD card. It will work like a thumb drive. However, you can't install any apps or data for the BB on the card.

You can store the pics, ringtones, songs and videos and watch them using the Pearl. .txt docs can be opened with the BB off of the card, too.
