about gmail access

I remember I've seen one of my classmate's blackberry 8700g (t-mobile) and he had gmail icon. I was just wondering, where can I find this to download? how much is it if i have to pay?

I downloaded mine from here OTA: gmail.com/app It's a free Java application from google.

I use the gmail app on mine and I like it a lot. You get most of the same functionality that you get from your computer.
