Is there any way to toggle on the keyboard backlight? It is difficult to read the keyboard when in conditions that the backlight doesn't come on but still dark enough to render reading of it very difficult.

Quick press the power button on the top left of 8800. The unit will go to full brightness

I had the same problem and it was suggested on this forum to turn off the auto backlight feature from the options - screen/keyboard menu. This causes the keypad to come on anytime it is being used, which helps me quite a lot.
