How do I enable the keyboard shortcuts on a 7280 blackberry?

Turn off the "dial from homescreen" option in the phone...

Press and hold a button down, it'll ask if you want to assign key (lets say "H") H to a phone number, hit yes, then select the number you want assigned to it.

What keyboard shortcuts are you looking for? The ability to press "A" and have it go to the address book, or the ability to assign a phone number to the letter "A"? If you want the first -- read my response above. If you want the second -- read Goth's response above :)

Application shortcuts? Just spin your thumbwheel and select the icon, and read the text at the bottom of the screen. The underlined letter is the letter you can press to launch that particular icon.

This is assuming you have turned off one-button-dial shortcuts, which can't be used at the same time as the application launch shortcuts.
