For everyone that got the 8800 or have used it... would you switch back to the Pearl or keep the 8800? I like the 8800, but only because of the QWERTY keyboard although I was able to get used to the SureType as well. That's pretty much the only reason I am using the 8800 now, but I'm thinking of maybe returning it and going back to the Pearl. I know its a pretty simple choice to make and it all depends on preference but I'm having a hard time. I have also read some previous threads regarding 8100 vs. 8800.

Has not even crossed my mind. You could not pry my 8800 from my hands until it is replaced with another Blackberry QWERTY device.

Actually thinking about adding an 8800 to my stable. That way, when work is the primary focus, I have the 8800 (a better tool?). When work is not the main focus (evenings out, weekends, etc) the Pearl keeps work options open, but is easier to carry.

Very glad I did not purchase the 8800, I will keep my 8700 until something better comes along(probably iPhone).

iPhone???? YUCK!

I have not had the chance to play with the 8800 yet, but am thinking I will keep the 8100 for now and see what RIM has planned for the suretype devices.... :)

I swap back and forth btwn the 8100 and the 8800. I had all the older QWERTY bb's, but when the 7100 came out I switched to that. I didn't realize how used to suretype I had become.
Now, trying to use the 8800 is a little slow for me.
So, i just keep practicing and practicing... getting better....
8800 is def faster, and battery life is incredible!!!!

Yeah, I am thinking of doing the same.

I had the Treo 750 for a while, and it froze up on my 3 times. Then, I had the 8800 for a few days. Good looking solid phone that drew lots attention at crowded places, but I wasn't comfortable with the size in my jean pocket when I go out to cafes and clubs, during non-business hours when I didn't have my briefcase. I went back to Pearl for these reasons, but adding 8800 to my Pearl will work out nice.

I played around with my brother Treo 650 tryinig to get used to the qwerty keyboard, but I had hard time going after those small keys for one letter. I find the typing on the SureType much faster. Sure, some word choices such as hat/gay can be a problem for some, but using the trackball to choose the right word takes about 0.1 second.

But to answer the first post, I did go back to the Pearl. My commuting time is less than 10 minutes, and I rarely go on business trips. So I have access to my PC's either at home or office within minutes. So for now, Pearl serves me well, except having to deal with the memory leak issues.

Cheers.
