how to keep the blacklight on? weird help

hey, i just got my bb, its hard for me to explain but, the brighter light keeps turning off. i dont even know how to get it to turn on. the screen shows, but its really dim, and sometimes the backlight i guess, kicks in and its bright and nice. i want to keep the bright light on all the time when its not locked....can anyone help? i tried the settings with the backlight, it does nothing. i think it handles the dimmer light, but the bright light just comes and goes on its own.

you cant do anything.. its atomatic and cant be shut off =/
it gets bright when the sensor gets a bright light and when its dark the screen will dim
