I work for Alltel and I have the BB 8703e and would like to tether my BB. Alltel DOES NOT support BB tethering for this phone. I know there is a way to tether it but have yet to succeeded in doing so. So with that said if anyone knows how to go about doing this please let me know!

If this is company issued blackberry with SIM card they provided, tethering may have been disabled. You are out of luck if this is the case.

Alltel is CDMA, so there is no SIM card.
That said, I have tried following directions posted elsewhere here, and Alltel obviously must be blocking this type of access.
I wish they didn't, but I understand why they do.

Well there is a way with the 7130e so i know its just a matter of duplicating the same thing. Both are EVDO phones both have the same software....I just get lost on a couple of steps....

I work for Alltel and am happy to announce that an upgrade is coming for the 8703e. software v.4.2 will be available for download within a month.

Where at in alltel do you work, and where are you getting your source for v4.2?
