I have gone through horrible trauma of dealing with the Kensington USB Bluetooth 2.0 USB adapter and the company played the blame game on the phone and not themselves. I need to know, ONLY from users who CURRENTLY use a USB Bluetooth Adapter sticking out of their computer, which ones work FLAWLESSLY with the Blackberry Desktop Manager? I really can't take your input unless your CURRENTLY using a USB Bluetooth Adapter.

This is what I got, just use the windows driver.

Bluetooth Class 1 USB 2.0 Adapter w/100M Range Suncore BT-B1 BT-333E (http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=BT-B1)

And since you already own one, give it a try.

Use the windows driver? I went to that thread earlier yesterday and it was extremely confusing. Can't I just download something and install it, like a driver link, to make it work?

The 8700c is already BT capable, but it can only be used for voice. Are you trying to connect the BB and the PC via BT for data exchange?

I have a Motorola BT adapter on my laptop for SKPYE using various BT headsets, but I don't think that is what you are looking for.

Texasdude, looks like you have to either delete the current USB dongle driver and follow the instruction or just buy the dongle from geeks.com, plug it in and install the windows driver.

With the current 4.2 desktopmanager, you can syn, backup and restore.

With the 4.1 (not sure), you can also use the above plus application loader??

I read somewhere that you can use the BB for dial up with BT on 3rd party software like the shark modem.

Right -- you must use the Microsoft BT driver. Read the RIM knowledgebase article. I believe the same info is probably posted somewhere here and on other BB forum sites.

Not exactly. You're forgetting GPS, the BT smart card reader, BT keyboards and BT sync.
