New to 8700c

Been around the block few times starting off with BB 7130c -> Pearl -> 8800 and now 8700c.

I tried looking through all the threads but wasnt able to quite gather all the information I needed so I'm seeking your expertise.

Would I be dissapointed with the performance of 8700c coming from 7130c, Pearl and 8800 ? I wanted to have a solid phone with a nice keyboard while waiting for 83xx to hit the store.

Can someone please share their experiences between 8800 and 8700 and the other new BB.

I find the 8800 to be slightly - barely noticeably slower than the 8700. I assume it's all the extra functionality - PTT, GPS, MultiMedia, Voice Dialing.

Not familiar with the 7130c, but as far as I know it's an 8700 with a multi-tap keyboard - same processor, functions, etc.

I don't think so based on my experiences with those devices. Are you referring to the speed of the 8700c when you say "performance"?

as an owner of the 8700c and just buying the 8800 i have to say that there isa little differnce. the performance is not a big notice. you will see that the screen is better and the feel of the 8800 is really nice. as for the mp3 and the micro sd card and all the other options are great but not worth the price of the 8800. i found out that the 8800 wont stream the music to my bluetooth headphones so thats out already. the keyboard layout will take a week getting used to i like the 8700c layout its spaced out better. to be honest i would not upgrade to the 8800 or any other phone unless blackberry really added some serious upgrade to there software and hardware. i view the 8800 not and i mean not a major milestone in blackberry just a little step up.

What I mean by performance is the amount of hourglass you get and the lagginess that I felt only with 8800. Is it responsive to your actions is what I am asking I guess.

I wasnt very impressed with the media player of 8800... if anything at all, I missed my pearl for the camera.

I guess the main reason why I chose to go with 8700 is
1. $99 for the phone
2. From what I read, its a solid phone where people refused to move over to 8800. Thats gotta say something about a phone where people show loyalty...
