I received a new (refurbished) 8700c from Cingular, and need to send my damaged old one back to them. Does anyone know how to permanently delete ALL information on my old device? Meaning, calendar items, old email messages, notes, pictures, etc; so when I send it back to Cingular, there is nothing that identifies me. I don't want the Cingular folks to have access to my personal information. Thanks for your attention.

2 ways.
Easy - On the Blackberry. Options/Settings - Security - General Settings - scroll click to get menu - Wipe handheld. Brings settings to OUT OF BOX

More of a wipe - Download JL_cmder (http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-blackberry-discussion/18789-jl_cmder.html#post122727) and follow instructions on WIPING the device and reloading the NEW os. This will take 20-40 minutes. you have to download the latest OS from RIM and what not.

I would just do the easy option. It will work with PIM data. Which is calendar and such.
-EDIT-
Damn you guys are fast

ChiBryan, you are welcome, but I think I should take offense, but it's Friday so you get a free pass.

My experience is that not all apps will be deleted.
Like mini opera, nav4all. Also DST2007 will not be removed.

So out of the box, no. No real hard reset excist to me.

What about overwriting the existing informations with a bigger RECOVER?
E.g. create an alternate BB indentity with as much as possible faked PIM and
1. Wipe Handheld
2. Recover PIM from a file?

I don't consider third party apps to be personally identifying information which is what the OP asked about but I guess YMMV...
