We have several blackberries that receive email by using the Verizon Blackberry portal at blackberry-dot-com/go/vzw. When we set up the email account, it only asks for EMAIL address and password and I know it uses IMAP to access our hosted email, retrieves any waiting mail and forwards it to the blackberry.
We're considering subscribing to a 3rd party spam filtering service where all of the MX records are changed to point to these other servers where the mail is scrubbed before being delivered to our hosted mail server.
My concern is that if the MX records change, will the blackberry server be able to locate and log into our mail server?
(I tried to call Verizon and I could tell the "tech" on the other side of the phone had that "deer in headlights" look.)
Any ideas?
