View Full Version : Issues with Sprint 8703e and gmail

Hopefully someone here can assist me, as I am stumped and my 80 minute call with Sprint BB support has left me with more problems then when I started.

I am using a Sprint bb8703e. I have my @<hidden> address and a @<hidden> address set up using BIS.


@<hidden> address
I am unable to recieve mail. I am able to send mail. Mail sent to this account is visable in my gmail inbox, however it is not being retreived by the BB.

@<hidden> address
I am unable to recieve mail. I am able to send mail. I have no mailbox icon on the BB for this account.

PIN messaging works fine.

Steps taken already:

- reset BB by removing battery.

- Delete servicebooks and resend them.

- Delete mail accounts from BIS and re ad them.

- Delete BIS account and recreate it with new username.

Initially the problem was only with my @<hidden> account but after working with sprint to fix the issue my @<hidden> began to show the same problem.

Any help would be great. I am at my wits end with this problem.

Have you logged into your BIS Blackberry account from Sprints webpage and set up your gmail account from there? If not you might want to do that. Once that is done you will need to resend your service books to activate that account, and for this last step I could be wrong so you might want to find out first before doing it. In your gmail account , under your settings you might have to enable POP3 mail forwarding.

I have setup the gmail account under the BIS several times and resent the servicebooks to the bb. I have used the same gmail account on the Sprint BIS without setting up any type of forwarding in the past. Indeed, where would I forward it to?

I guess one way to get aroung the gmail one is to download the free gmail mobile program from google. Also helps in keeping the email seperate.

go to hxxp://gmail.com/app from the bb's browser

I guess 2 other things is to reset your phone to factory and also have the Sprint rep take the services totally off your account and then re apply the service again.
