First impressions..WOW it's weird, I find myself reach for the trackwheel on the side with my thumb, old habits die hard I guess. Also, the screen is much prettier than the 8700 series. Navigation is much smoother, and the user interface is a lot cleaner...

Will post more later...

I still cannot find the trackwheel on my 8800.....ha....ha...ha.....

Actually I really like both the keyboard and trackball. Good build quality and brilliant display. Thumbs up on this one.

Cheers...

Seems since the 8100, the 8800 and soon the 8300 seem to all be going with the glossy finish which while nice looking is a fingerprint magnet.

Major fingerprint magnet! Although I'm not a big fan of the rubber skins from Blackberry, I think I might have to throw one on!

Ok, a little more..

Out of the box I only had 28000k space available out of th 64000kish...Kind of odd no?

also, the cingular APN settings for TCP were already in place, again, a little odd no?

John Clark has done a great job of outlining the proper setup of BBWeather. I had the same problem with freezes until I read this post:

The BBWeather program locks up if you hit the menu button at first.

Remove the battery and reboot the phone.

Now follow these instructions Exactly.

1. Click on BBWeather.
2. When it says error: no weather profiles, etc. Click on the Pearl to select ok. (do not click on the menu button)
3. Now click the Pearl again to get the menu.
4. Select "Options" and add your weather programs.
5. You can now use the menu button whenever you want.

After more use:

GPS Works great, except it's a little slow to acquire satellites. both telenav and bbmaps work perfectly..

Speaker phone is EXQUISITE, coming from the 8700c, which was the biggest piece of crap speaker phone ever, this 8800 is great step up.. Also, call quality/clarity is excellent.

A negative, the Vibrate is very, very weak...(n) (n)

Yeah i'm not happy with the vibrate and also not completely happy with the voice calls, not enough lower frequencies, sounds tinny like theres a high pass filter on the audio.

Nice so far jungleland. You should do a daily/weekly or something journal of your 8800 experience. Kind of a "Day in the life of" if you will.

i hope that the "clit" is not going to spoil the fun, we used a Nokia E61 for some weeks in our company to see for the benefits, but everybody hated it after 1 day because there was no scroll wheel on it....
well, we ordered some 8800 in our company, so we will find out soon....
