View Full Version : Should I set up Hosting service for 8700g?

Hey all, i have been searching the forums...

I have 8700G Tmobile.

Aim through ramble seems to be choppy,
blackberry aim service is choppy and i dont get some messages.
Email from my account really lags when recieving mail to my bb...

Will signing up for a Hosting service such as exchange hosting fix the problems? If so, which service is best/cost effective too.

Or is there a more reliable AIM program out there for the 8700?

Or for mail should i set up the redirector?

Advise greatly appreciated.

I prefer Yak-On as my chat software- it is reliable, smooth, and free.

15 minutes is too much of a lagtime? Seems pretty good to me.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

The lag time for the push mail on BIS doesn't bother me, either. But BES might better suit you, check out some of the sponsors on this forum for a few with good reps. You could probably find a better IM app, check out JiveTalk in the Aftermarket Software forum and see if you can get on the beta test for it, best I have used.

If so, which service is best/cost effective too.

Most of the BES hosting providers have pretty comparable pricing.

Or for mail should i set up the redirector?

Definitely not. If you can't wait for BIS to deliver your email (i.e. if it's that important to you) then don't rely on Redirector or Mail Connector to handle your email.
