ok there is a data plan on cingular for $9.99 is it just Internet browsing? is there any instant messeging along with it?

I think that is the MediaNet internet plan. It does nothing for the BlackBerry. You must have a BlackBerry Data Plan.

Cheapest Cingular BB data plan is the BIS data plan which is $29.99 with a voice plan of $39.99 or higher. Otherwise it's $34.99.

The $9.99 won't do you any good as NJBlackBerry says.
