Hey guys- I'm having trouble pressing the silver button on the back and sliding the battery cover off. It just won't budge!!! Does anyone know what the proper way to do it is??

Thanks!

this is an 8800 or 8100? the 8800 doesn't have a button, it just has a latch that holds it in place. The 8100 has a button between the two charging contacts.

Push on the silver square in the middle (right above the SD card) and push down. It's tight but it should slide off.

Had the same issue - had to use my finger nail between the case and battery cover while pressing the silver button to get mine open.

You really need to apply pressure on the silver part and the battery door to slide it off. Wasn't there a sticker on the battery door demonstrating this, or is this just on the newer units?

Mine was the same way! Just press on the silver part where the ridges are, and at the same time kind of slide from the bottom. It should come off, over time it'll become easier to get off. Mine slides right off now, I wish it would have stayed a little tighter!

I agree with sean76, at first the back door was near impossible to get off but after just a short time it comes off with ease.

My method is to use 3 fingers from one hand pulling the back down while the other hand applies "slight" pressure to the square button area. TOO MUCH pressure on the button will make it harder to release. Mine takes only slight pressure.

So that's what the problem has been :). After struggling with getting the cover off, I just used light pressure and viola!

I was initially concerned I would never get mine off as I reached a point where I thought it cannot be good to go beyond this level of pressure. Now I make sure I get a fingernail or something on the top of that silver thing while applying light pressure.
