7100g Problem

My 7100g died on me the other day during a phone call. I thought the battery may have died but it was fully charged. The screen is black and the light just flashes red. The card looks okay and I cannot get the desktop to connect to the phone.
I still have 7 months to go on a 2 yr contract with this phone...Help!

Try with the SIM card removed. Also try the application loader to see if it can see the PIN at least.

No luck, even with card removed the screen is still black and desktop will not connect to it. I guess I will have to bite the bullet on this one.

Follow-Up

I searched the forum in great detail and tried several things.

I was finally able to get it working by doing the following:

1. Start loader.exe for C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader
2. Clicked on Next in the Application Loader window
3. Remove the battery from BB
4. Connect BB to the USB cable
5. Reinsert the battery
6. The drop down list "Connection:"it changed from COM1 to USB:UNKNOWN
7. Clicked on Next and Application loader was able to reconnect to my BB and I reloaded the firmware.
