Strange Icon b/w voicemail and alarm clock icons?

I have a strange icon on the top of my screen (on the same line as messages, voicemails and the alarm clock icon). It is a light blue/silver circle with a "1" next to it. Does anyone know what this is or how I get rid of it?

What model, carrier, and theme? Depending on the theme the icons can look different.

It sounds like a message of some type since there is a 1

It is very likely a browser push message, such as if you saved a request for a browser page while your signal was down, or could be a Blackberry Messenger message notification according to your description.

Cingular, 8700c, and the std theme. How do I get rid of it?

Go to your messages folder...

Then scroll down and look for a globe..

It's where it would usually show an envelope.

Then just delete is (or see what message was sent to you via PUSH).
