Has anyone been able to use there 8700 as a modem for a notebook running Vista? I have gone through the setup... but it still won't connect. I am hoping there is a trick to make it work. I am not having any problems with the desktop manager... but I cannot use it as a modem. Please help!

First of all, please don't double post.

Second of all, there is a post from yesterday afternoon by det293 which probably answers your questions. A little searching and reading goes a long way.

Sorry to be blunt, but that's the way it is.

Yes, but you need to use Desktop Manager 4.2 SP1 (https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22) (uninstall any other versions before installing). Extract the package to a permanent directory (I use C:\Windows\Options\BBDesktop421), then right click BlackBerrySetup.exe and select Run as Administrator.
