Hi All,

Well I got my 7250 before the weekend and tried to do what has been suggested by running the battery down several times. With as much as I played with it, that was not much of a problem.

Then last night I got my "BIG" battery and door in. I popped it in and charged it overnight. I also got a Jabra BT250 bluetooth headset so I set that up.

Today I headed off to work and made 2 calls on the way to work both about 5 minutes. At the site I'm working at I have no phone so I used my Blackberry to make about 14 calls, ranging in times from 3 to 15 minutes.

All the while it was bluetoothing away and doing about 40 emails. My new BIG battery went to 99% just after the first call this morning. Here it is almost 6:30 pm and the battery is STILL at 99%.

If that keeps up I can't see how I'm gonna be able to deplete this battery to "break it in"!!!

I guess I need to startup Verichat and that will eat some. But Wow!!!

If you don't have the big battery for the 7250 (or compatible) it is worth it (so far!)

Mark, how BIG is that battery? Approximately how far out does it extend past where the normal battery did?

about 1/8" at the top, 1/4" at the bottom. The BB still fits perfectly in the standard holster. It is heavier but not terribly so. But the battery life!!! I think it would run for a week!

I could probably post a digital pic if you want?

Thanks Mark. That's not that bad for all the extra power. Pictures aren't necessary.

I also have the extended battery. Another nice "feature" is that when using the stock holster, the added thickness of the batter actually gives you a better surface to grip when taking it out of the holster.

Mark, Where did you get it?

Mark, where did you get it, and has anyone been able to get a matching blue one for the Canadian Roger's 7290?

I got mine from SmartPhone Depot. The owner (I think) posts on here alot.

I didn't even think about color. My BB is black and the door that came is black. I was little worried because when I got the email shipping verification it said, "battery BB 7290" and I have the 7250 but I guess they are compatible cause everything fit.

I have to admit that the BB numbering scheme is extremely confusing. I mean verizon offers the 7250 and the 7750. Normally I would think the 7750 would be the more powerful version and in fact a girl at a verizon dealer store was sure it was.

It's unfortunate that girl was pretty clueless on blackberries, but like some cellphone models, which also are inconsistent when it comes to numbers, unless you do some researching, it's very easy to get lost as to what would be the right solution for everybody. boy i'd hate to talk to her when the 7100 comes out for verizon..

"When" the 7100 comes out??? Has anything been said or announced about this or is it pure specualtion? I tried the 7100g on Cingular and couldn't deal with the poor cell service so I sent it back and would LOVE a 7100 from Verizon!

I was almost tempted to tray a 7250 but have held off for the time being.

Thanks for the order Mark!

I have been waiting for a 7290 from T-mo so I could post a few pics of the extended battery combo but as we all know... no 7290 from them yet.

As Mark found out the 7290 and 7250 have the same color door.

Are these extended batteries OEM or are they 3rd party?

I bought the extended batteries too. In fact, I got 2 of them since I've been on a hazmat scene or some other long call and cell phones are used a LOT and you can't always plug in. Under normal usage I can get 2 days out of my battery with no trouble. When I got mine, it came with both a blue and a black door as part of the package.

(I have a BB 7520, not sure if that makes a difference in battery life or what comes in the package with the extended batteries!)

You are tempting me to order one. I wish I had known before. I just placed an order last week from smartphonesdepot for two cases!

The old package for the Nextel version of the package came with blue (7510) and black (6510) doors. There currnetly is no "package" for 7520 users from RIM so we do our own.

RIM is changing the way it's doing the battery kit thing anyway - the batteries are going to be available seperately and you can buy the door you need or certain combos will be available.

That may not be a problem - which cases did you get?

Does anyone have any experience using the extended battery on the BB7250 while using a SkinTight from Speck Products? How does it (if at all) affect the fit of the case with the larger battery in place?
