Hi Everyone,
I need your help here!!!! I noticed a crack on my 8800 screen yesterday. I know this is a defect, as I've been very careful with the phone. Not to mention the manager at the Cingular store where I purchased the phone agreed the crack was not due to mishandling of the phone.
Long story short, Cingular and Blackberry refuse to replace it or cover the repair. They said ANY damage to the screen is consider physical abuse. So, I have the option of paying $190 to replace the screen or purchase a new one at the full price of $499. Both options will take 10 - 12 business days. Here are my questions:
1) Is the crack on the screen or is there a protected "housing" on top of the screen? The reason I ask is because everything looks fine on the screen, but the crack.
2) Is there anything I can do to get Cingular or Blackberry to fix the problem?
3) Anyone else have this problem?
