laptop tethering

Is there a way that I can tether my blackberry to my laptop to access internet on my laptop? I have searched through the forums, but all of the information on tethering is for specific wireless providers, I do not know the settings for my provider, and my provider does not offer blackberry support. Currently all I have through my provider is a data plan, so in order for me to receive internet on the blackberry I have to use opera mini. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A quick google search suggests this:

connection: GPRS
Use Name: privuser
Password: priv
APN: private.centennialwireless.com

I have tried using those settings, those work for the internet on the phone, but I'm not sure what settings to use in the laptop, I no I have to open the "standard modem" and change settings that are network specific...
