Service - How much you paying?

Hi all,

I just joined Tmobile and am paying $83.50 (as of 4/30/05) for the Get More 600 (whenever minutes), BlackBerry Unlimited w/Enterprise Email Add-on and Text Message 300. I purchased this contract awhile back, not sure of he date exactly.

I'm wondering if this is alot compared to what other people are paying. I looked around Verizon and Cingular but got confused as to how much the total cost would be for a comparable package. Anyone care to share how much they are paying?

Two Blacberrys at about $275 per month. Both on unlimited BB plan and LOTS of minutes. I use 2100 minutes last month and my partner used more than that!

Would never leave Nextel, most our customers use it and with out DC, I hate to think about how many minutes I would use.

Depends where you go. I gave back all my BB's to T-MO and Verizon. Kept the Cingular/ATT. I travel nationally and some international. I, or rather, my company pays $99 for 2000 min and unlimited data. So far, no probs anywhere. Even in previous cold spots for the other carriers. I'll never got back, if I can help it.

Verizon's coverage is by far the best and can go more places. (Pick up and read ANY magazine and you can see verizon is rated #1 in every market in the country by actual consumers) You get what you pay for in this world. Verizon does let you have either a data plan or voice plan or both. You pick the plan you want and you can get unlimited txt messages in network for $5. :-) (And yes I can hear you now, you must have switched to verizon)

I would have to concur with the Verizon guy. Not sure where everyone is located but I switched from Verizon to T-mobs 6 months ago, the Verizon coverage in New York and the surrounding region is MUCH better then Tmobile. Tmobile is decent in the city, but try going out to Jersey or even worse, Connecticut. Its like you dropped off the face of the earth. With my verizon phone, i had almost full signal everywhere I went (I do most of my business on the east coast; floriday to boston). Its good to hear that so many of you are big T-Mobile fans, makes me think that maybe I'm exagerating my service quality.

With that said, if Verizon had a similar package for blackberry and voice (i pay ~$80 for 600 mins and BES unlimited), I'd switch back over to Verizon in a heartbeat.

Respectfully, that statement is absolutely FALSE when it comes to data coverage.

This is Verizon's data coverage map (i.e. where your BlackBerry can do its thing). Not much larger than T-Mobile's, and definately smaller than Cingular!!!!!

Check out Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisana, Oklahoma, Kansas, North Carolina, Maine ... yipes!

Cingular and Verizon are the two largest networks.

Cingular is GSM, so its voice/data networks are the same size. It has most cities and rural areas covered.

Verizon's voice/data networks are NOT the same size. Verizon's voice network is larger than Cingulars, but it's data network is much smaller. Its voice network has almost all of the US covered, but its data network is missing coverage in some decent sized cities.

T-Mobile is also GSM, so its voice/data networks at the same size. Its network is smaller than Cingular/Verizon. It has most cities covered, but is lacking in rural areas.

I dont think Nextel's $39 data plan has unlimitted email, just for wireless web. For email it is 3MB I believe. The $49 data plan is unlimitted for all data traffic.

He has posted that he hates Nextel in other posts, its easy enough he can turn his service off and go to someone else, just like any other person. Thats what a free market ecomomy is all about. I think you make a valid point. HOWEVER, for someone who is paying for the service by themselves should be outraged by what Nextel Charges per month for unlimited data, and Cingular for that matter.

For me, T-mobile suits me best just because of the location of where I am at, and where I travel to. I think arguing about which provider is pretty pointless, seeings how we all have our own preference due to location/price/budget/phones that are offered, ect.

I think of it as this: We all have our different size clothes we wear. Depending on whether we are small/large/husky it doesn't matter, we all have our own size of clothing that we like/fit into/enjoy, and for a husky guy to tell a skinny guy that his clothes are better because they fit his needs is completely irrelevant!!

Hehe, sorry, just had to give my .02, it makes me feel better to rant after a 5 mile run, LOL.
