I currently have a 7100i, and am ready for better service:

I like the suretype, but could get use to the qwerty, as long as it's big enough (I have big fingers).

I am use to the trackwheel, can you use the trackball one-handed?

I held a 8800 and 8300 today at ATT, both keyboards are too small, didn't try the trackball.

I am thinking the 8703e from Sprint, or maybe jumping ship to the Pearl with ATT.

Well, first you need to decide on the carrier. Figure out which is best where you live, work, travel, etc. , then pick the phone.

well if you didnt like the keyboard on the 8300 or 8800, the pearl wont suit you either. I would recommend the 8300 or 8700/8703e if you want a large very well laid out keyboard.....

I probably will stay with Sprint, but the CS sucks, and I am considering moving to ATT. What's wrong with the Pearl, the keyboard looks almost the same size as the 7100i. Like I said, the 8300's keyboard is too small. Also, one concern I'm having, is that when Dataviz documents to go comes available, I will be getting it. I use a lot of excel files on the go. I don't think memory will be an issue, though.

If you want to avoid poor CS then at&t isn't the company to switch to.

Again, you need to consider coverage first. Given the coverage I've had in the French Quarter this week I probably wouldn't recommend at&t on that basis either... It might be a temporary issue but both of my BB's keep losing signal altogether, end up in SOS only, or just with GSM quite frequently around here.

The others are right. You need to decide on which cell company would be the best for you and then look at their choices of Blackberrys. Not all companies offer the same BB's. I have Sprint/Nextel and have great CS from them. Verizon has good CS too. By the way, the Pearl keyboard looks tiny compared to the 7100i. I prefer the full keyboard myself. Suretype works good except when trying to type email addresses and web addresses. Most companies have their own version of the Blackberry 8700. I think you will like the 8700. I switched from a 7100i to a 7520 and I'm currently waiting for my new 8700e to come in the mail.

Well, Sprint Nextel is the out of the question, I've been having issues with CS, now my wife had a problem today. She called me and told me to call S/N to find out our contract dates.

It's either T-MO or ATT. I looked at a 8703e today at the Sprint store, and I have to say my fingers are too big (darn it). I'm leaning towards ATT, their coverage and plans should suit me better. All my co-workers that I talk too have ATT cell phones, and everyone around here has Bellsouth for land lines. I avg 4000 minutes per month with Sprint Nextel.

Is the 7130c the only suretype device that ATT has other than the Pearl?
